\u201cEvery behavior makes sense.\u201d Jenifer first heard this principle while in graduate school, and it has resonated with her ever since. She believes that \u201cPeople do the best they can with what they have.\u201d These tenets are felt throughout each counseling session, as Jenifer places a high value on accepting people as they are. She provides a supportive and judgment-free space where clients can process their issues and struggles while working toward their goals.<\/span><\/div>\n

Jenifer has over 10 years of counseling experience and utilizes an eclectic approach to therapy, tailoring her approach to meet each client\u2019s specific needs. She pulls from different aspects of each theory: Solution Focus Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered and continues to grow and evolve in her therapeutic style.<\/span><\/div>\n

Jenifer is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia pursuing her Ph.D. in Psychology at Liberty University. She received her Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in 2012 and a Bachelor of Science in Christian Counseling from Central Christian College of the Bible in 2008.<\/span><\/p>\n

Experience:<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Outpatient therapy<\/span>: Provided Outpatient therapy to children, teens, adults, and couples who were experiencing a variety of mental health and\/or relationship issues, which includes but are not limited to anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, and life transitions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Emergency Psychiatric Services with several local hospitals<\/span>:\u00a0 Assessed patients and advised doctors if patients would benefit from inpatient psychiatric services or could be discharged safely.<\/span><\/p>\n

Intensive In-Home Counselor<\/span>: Successfully worked with youth (who were at risk of being removed from their home due to behavioral issues) and their family in order to decrease behavioral issues and increase positive relationships within the family dynamic.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

DSS\/CPS Outpatient Counselor and Parent Educator for the local Social Services<\/span>: Provided Outpatient Counseling and Parent Education Services to parents whose children were either removed from the home due to allegations of abuse\/neglect as well as parents who were reunited with their children after removal from the home.<\/span><\/p>\n

Substance Abuse Group Counselor:<\/span> Provided group therapy for individuals struggling with substance abuse and comorbid mental health issues.<\/span><\/p>\n

Intake Sessions are $175<\/span><\/p>\n
